The X2 focuses the sound within a restricted listening area, with power output calibrated for installations situated within immediate reach of both the audience and staff.
The X2 speaker is designed for installations requiring sound to be directed at a specific point: a counter, a kiosk or a display stand. It is the entry-level model in the range of directional speakers, ideal for projects seeking, above all, a compact solution that can be deployed quickly.
With a dispersion angle of less than 15° (-20 dB), the X2 directs sound primarily towards the area in front of it. This precision is perfectly suited to the speaker’s most common use: where the listener and staff are just a few metres apart.
Take a reception area, for example. A traditional speaker broadcasts throughout the entire space, meaning the staff member at the counter is exposed to the same message all day long. With the X2, a visitor standing in front of the speaker hears the broadcast content, whilst someone sitting right next to them remains outside the sound beam. The speaker’s power is similarly designed: its sound level is calibrated for close-up listening, not to fill a room.
This combination – a narrow beam and moderate volume – works particularly well when the content being broadcast is spoken. The frequency range of 500 Hz to 20 kHz covers the frequencies that carry the human voice, making the X2 ideal for information messages, instructions, audio commentary and soundtracks associated with a device.
The X2 is just 30 mm thick and weighs less than 400 g. It can be placed on its table stand, mounted on the wall using the supplied bracket, and fits just as well next to a screen as it does in a display unit. Its black and grey colour scheme makes it unobtrusive in most environments. Allow for a distance of around one metre between the speaker and the listener for optimal sound quality.
In terms of input sources, three options are available: USB-C, 3.5 mm jack and Bluetooth, managed according to a fixed order of priority (USB-C, then jack, then Bluetooth). Bluetooth is handy for temporary set-ups, demonstrations and situations where running an extra cable isn’t practical.
The X2 offers a subtle solution for situations where a conventional speaker would be too obtrusive. Its compact size allows it to fit into tight spaces, its directionality prevents the sound field from spreading unnecessarily, and its connectivity options cover both wired and wireless use cases.
The X2 is ideally suited to installations where listening takes place at close range and where the acoustic comfort of staff working on site is just as important as that of visitors.
