Context
The Maritime Museum of Québec celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. For the occasion, a new permanent exhibition titled “Chalouperie” was inaugurated. Located in L’Islet, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, the museum is dedicated to the memory of the explorer Joseph-Elzéar Bernier. Among the pieces on display are the icebreaker Ernest Lapointe, the hydrofoil Bras d’Or 400, and an extensive collection of boats.

Video players designed for harsh conditions
10 video players were installed by De Roo et Fille at the entrance and throughout the museum tour. All of them are synchronized with an Event Player, enabling audio-light coordination to highlight specific objects during the narration.

Jean-Robert De Roo: “I chose the VP320 for its reliability and efficiency. The exhibition runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day during the summer. The museum then closes from October to June. The building has neither heating nor insulation. With hot summers and humid winters, the equipment is really put to the test.”
