Outvision designed a 6-metre immersive booth with 270-degree projection. Using our media servers, it offered a unique video mapping experience.
In a room with a ceiling height of just 3 metres, Loxam wanted to offer an immersive 270-degree projection. The main challenge was to project an image as high as possible despite the height constraint, in a cabin 6 metres in diameter.
To add to the complexity, the installation had to allow users to control stop, pause and resume autonomously via a remote control, without a video technician present.
Outvision took a 3-step approach. First, they identified four ultra-short-throw projectors to maximise image height. To ensure autonomous use, they set up an OSC system using a tablet, enabling easy and intuitive control by the customer.
For video mapping, they were looking for an intuitive solution that would manage edge blending and the distortion required to create a curved screen, for a truly immersive experience.
‘After deciding on the software, we looked for the best hardware solution and opted for the Proxima server. This proved to be the ideal choice thanks to its competitive cost, its ability to offer an intuitive interface and to provide four video outputs.’ – Romain Farmer, CEO
